Peacefully situated in the small village of Stawell, popular for bird watching, beside the Polden Hills and close to the Somerset Levels, nature reserves and walks, fishing can also be accessed.

An ideal base for a touring holiday, whether by car or bicycle and is centrally positioned for the nearby towns of Street, famous for Clarks shopping village and historical Glastonbury known for its Abbey, Tor and annual 'Extravaganza' in August. Further afield is Wells at the foot of the Mendip Hills with its cathedral and farmer's market on Wednesday mornings. Other local attractions include Cheddar Caves and Gorge, Wookey Hole and the beaches at Burnham-on-Sea, Brean Sands and Weston-Super-Mare. Try some of the famous Cheddar cheese and local Somerset cider. A short drive brings you to the Quantock Hills and the beautiful Somerset coast which includes Minehead and Porlock Weir. Close by is the West Somerset Railway and historic town of Dunster with its castle. In nearby Yeovilton there is the largest Fleet Air Arm Museum in Europe.

Everything about this cottage is perfect. We spent Easter weekend here and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the country side. We were lucky enough to enjoy a mainly dry weekend. The hot tub was such a relaxing pleasure.

This holiday was the most restful we have had in a while. The bed is very comfortable and the luxury of the log burner was appreciated in the cold weather. Very peaceful location and even with the owners being next door was very private. There is plenty of local walks to take our doggies. Is situated perfectly to get to Chester gorge and Wells cathRead moreedral. Did not use the hot tub due to the weather but nice to have if wanted. The Stables is a lovely place to stay and feels very cosy and we were completely relaxed. There is everything you need if you want to self cater, or if not, there are several pubs within a short driving distance. The hot tub is great, we only used it once as our visit was in the middle of December so would like to go back and give it a try in warmeRead morer weather and make more use of the outside space. The cottage and location was beautiful. Cottage was wonderful and cosy, lovely new bathroom was a bonus. The Hot tub and wood burner were fantastic and both were used everyday...hot tub was nice and warm. Smart Tv meant that we could access our programmes whilst the wood burner was on...heaven. Our holiday was wonderful. It was slightly chilly, but with -3 degree temperatures overnight, I think this was to be expected. I'd definitely bring some extra fluffy socks, but all in all, this will be a fantastic holiday and the owners are absolutely wonderful too.

Fantastic week away, the cottage was lovely and using the hot tub in winter was a great treat! Garden was very secure for the dog and a few local walks nearby to save on car journeys. I would highly recommend.

A lovely, well equipped, comfortable property in a good location if travelling by car. Major attractions like Cheddar caves and gorge, Wookey Hole and Glastonbury can be easily reached. Beds are very comfortable. The hot tub is a real treat. There was wine and cakes in the fridge on our arrival, which is a very nice touch.

Lots and lots of amazing walks within half an hour's drive. Lovely relaxing little place with extremely helpful and friendly owners who were there if you needed, but left you alone. Very comfortable beds. I took my own hairdryer following reviews. Kitchen was well equipped and with easy to use appliances.
