Choose from a variety of accommodation to suit your stay

Minehead is a popular coastal town situated on the south bank of the Bristol Channel and is a perfect destination for a seaside holiday. It is also often referred to as where Exmoor meets the sea due to the location of the town close to the north-eastern corner of the National Park.

In the town, explore the promenade and the harbour or alternatively head to the beach. Afterwards, enjoy a stroll up the parade to admire the colourful floral displays and discover the many cafes, pubs and restaurants. The town centre has a number of shops with a mix of both national stores and local craft shops.

Bordering Devon and the Exmoor National Park it is clear why Minehead is a popular option for a Somerset holiday. The proximity to the other parts of rural Somerset, whilst also being a beach-side location makes this a firm favourite for people visiting the region. You can travel very easily to plenty of other attractions and places including Taunton and Weston Super-Mare.

Inevitably, walking and cycling are great activities while on holiday in Minehead. The town marks the starting point of the meandering South West Coast Path, with a statue that was erected in 2001 signalling the beginning of the path which runs all the way to Poole in Dorset. The South West Coast Path is UK's longest long-distance countryside walking trail. There are also many fantastic walking trails on Exmoor or for adrenaline junkies, take a bike and hit the trails. North Hill, just a short walk from the centre of the town, is where Exmoor National Park begins, it dominates the town and the green slopes can be seen for miles around. You’ll find a selection places in the town and surrounding areas where you will be able to hire a bike should you not have your own during your break.

The Minehead and Exmoor festival is a really fantastic tradition that both locals and visitors enjoy every year. The festival shows off the traditions and culture of the region in the brightest and best possible way. Though visitors may be somewhat bemused by the May Day tradition of the Minehead Hobby Horse, you’re sure to enjoy the spectacle of music and dancing that you can experience whilst watching the brilliant festival.

The Minehead & West Somerset Golf Club is the oldest course in Somerset and offers some of the finest links golf to those who enjoy this wonderful, popular game. The South West coast path also begins here and a marker erected in 2001 signifies the start of this wonderful walk.
