Relax with the whole family at this Grade II-listed 16th-century thatched cottage, which has undergone a careful renovation. Peacefully situated at the foot of the Quantock Hills and on the Coleridge Way, a 51-mile walk through the stunning Somerset countryside of the Quantock Hills, the Brendon Hills and Exmoor. Located 2 miles from the large village of Williton with shops, cafes, and pubs and 4 miles from the small seaside town of Watchet with its marina, harbour, shops, eateries and weekly summer market. There are rock pooling and fossil hunting beaches on either side of Watchet harbour, and pebble beaches at Blue Anchor (7 miles) and Dunster (9 miles). Step back in time and aboard a steam train on the West Somerset Railway, that takes you through the beautiful Somerset countryside. Enjoy a visit to the coastal town of Minehead (10.5 miles), with its sandy beach and the county town of Taunton (14 miles).

This L-shaped semi-detached cottage has many original features including feature fireplaces, exposed beams, quirky uneven floors, which have been carefully blended with modern comforts. Step inside and you will immediately find yourself in the hall, which leads to the lounge, dining room and upstairs accommodation. The lounge is a wonderfully relaxing space with comfortable sofas and a Smart TV. Enjoy cooking up a storm in the well-equipped galley kitchen and enjoy mealtimes together around the dining table in the light and airy dining room. Completing the downstairs accommodation is a utility room with a useful WC. Head back to the hall and upstairs to five beautifully decorated bedrooms which all have a countryside view or view of the enclosed garden. The master bedroom has a super-king-size bed, sink and a balcony overlooking the garden. There is a single bedroom next door which could also be used for a travel cot. There are two double bedrooms, both with sinks, and the final bedroom is a twin. Completing the upstairs accommodation is a family bathroom.

Heading outside from the front door you will find a large enclosed, secluded garden where you will find a seating area, which is a lovely spot for al fresco dining with the family.

We had a lovely few days at Badgers Rake. Even though it rained for a lot of our stay, there were plently of books and games, and a smart tv with all the apps to keep us occupied. The house was lovely and clean. All essentials were provided. The garden is nice and big and completely enclosed with walls and fences so no chance of our dog escaping whRead moreich was perfect.
