A skilfully designed cottage with far-reaching views of Exmoor which provides a relaxing getaway, whilst still offering lots to discover on the doorstep. Minehead’s beach, shops, cafes, and pubs are all with 1 mile.

Minehead is situated on the edge of the Exmoor National Park with delightful moorland, woodland and coastal countryside. The house is in an elevated position among thatched cottages, but within 0.5 miles of the cafes, restaurants, and shops of Minehead’s centre. The Southwest Coast Path begins nearby, together with fine woodland walks towards Porlock. The West Somerset Steam Railway station is in the town and the National Trust’s Dunster, with its fine hilltop castle, and the beach at Blue Anchor are within 2 miles. The Exmoor Coaster open-top bus runs over the moorland into Lynmouth (18 miles) where the main attraction is the water-powered funicular cliff railway to Lynton. Dunkery Beacon and Lorna Doone Country are within 8 miles.

This former school was converted into three delightful cottages in 2021 and exude charm and character with oak flooring and exposed beams. Enter a light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which enjoys far-reaching views. Relax in the lounge where you can settle in for a snug evening with a bottle of wine and a film on the Smart TV, in front of the electric flame-effect fire set in an oak surround. Pick up a book to read or plan the next day’s outing with the maps and guides available. The perfectly equipped kitchen has a Rangemaster with a gas hob and electric ovens, a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave, and is a great space for lazy breakfasts or trying out new recipes. There is also a utility room with a washer/dryer and a WC. Upstairs are two light-filled bedrooms, built into the eaves of the property, both with beautiful, exposed beams. One has a king-size bed, fitted cupboards and an en-suite shower room with a shower and WC. The other is a single bedroom with a fitted wardrobe, situated opposite the bathroom with its free-standing bath, handheld mixer shower and WC.
Outside is a south-facing decked area with plenty of space to sit and enjoy a morning coffee and admire the views. Head down three steps and across the private parking area to a raised deck surrounded by planted areas with shrubs and a flower border, and within earshot of the small stream which runs down the hill. There is private designated parking for two cars.
