This beautiful detached barn conversion is situated in a quiet spot for those requiring a relaxing holiday with walks directly from the property and in a perfect location for touring the whole area.

Situated in a tranquil location close to the Quantock and Blackdown Hills with a variety of beautiful countryside walks to choose from, many on the doorstep. It is even possible to enjoy a country walk into Taunton’s town centre with its high street shops, park, leisure facilities, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Centrally located for visiting Somerset, Devon and Dorset coastlines, from Blue Anchor and Watchet in Somerset. To the south is the Jurassic coast with the towns of Sidmouth, Beer, Lyme Regis and Exmouth. Countless day trips include a day at Taunton races, Enmore Park Golf Course, Hestercombe Gardens, Cheddar Gorge, Blackdowns hills, Brendan Hills and Exmoor. This beautiful detached barn conversion is set within an elevated position within the grounds of the owner’s home and has been fully refurbished throughout. Upon entering the beautiful accommodation, you will be greeted by a hall with a useful space to hang coats and leave muddy shoes after a walk in the countryside. Continue up the stairs of which there are 4, from there you will find that the accommodation is all on one level. The lounge/diner features a flame effect electric fire and freeview TV so you can relax in the evening in front of your favourite programmes. There are also french doors that open into the courtyard garden, this is also a way into the barn conversion for those that find stairs difficult as there is a gradual sloping pathway to the property. The well-equipped kitchen has an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is also a stable door where you can let the outside in on sunny days, which leads to an enclosed decked terrace. The spacious king-size bedroom looks out over the courtyard garden. The contemporary bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC.

Venturing outside from the lounge/diner is a small pretty courtyard garden with seating where you can enjoy your morning coffee and an al fresco breakfast. Leading from the kitchen is an enclosed decked terrace which also has seating and is a perfect spot to make the most of the evening sun with a glass of wine. You are very welcome to enjoy exploring the owners large landscaped garden which leads to a pretty stream overlooking neighbouring fields with seating areas. Parking for one car can be found in the gravelled driveway shared only with the owners.

Perfectly located for the avid cricket fan where Taunton hosted the World Cup Games 2019. Vivary Park host many outdoor concerts. Have a day at the races or a trip to the Steam Rally Norton Fitzwarren 3/4th August or Taunton Flower Show 2/3rd August. Dunster castle host many events and Dunster Show is on 16th August. This is by far the best cottage we have ever stayed in. From the beautifully designed interior to the lovely garden, everything was perfect. Frances and Steve were the perfect hosts, extremely friendly, always ready for a chat, but never intrusive. On arrival we were greeted personally and guided round the property . A delightful property set a wonderful garden, a haven of peace. Only the birds chirping so relaxing , and yet only 10 minutes from Taunton town centre what more could you want. The hosts were most welcoming.

Farthings Barn is an excellent choice for a relaxing and comfortable holiday. The location is excellent, down a quiet lane, yet close to an excellent bus service linking Taunton and Minehead.
