This well presented annexe has been lovingly converted and refurbished making it a perfect getaway for couples. Situated next to the owners’ property with its own entrance and driveway, a warm welcome awaits yet your privacy is assured.

Set in the picturesque village of Chardstock which is situated equal distance from the market towns of Chard in Somerset and Axminster in Devon, which is famous for its Axminster Carpets and celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage. The village is surrounded by farmland and woodland with plenty of footpaths for walks in the village and nestles within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The market town of Chard in Somerset is a short drive from the property and other attractions nearby include Forde Abbey, Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre and Axe Valley Bird and Animal Park. Chardstock also has an annual street fair and tractor trundle. Lyme Regis and the Jurassic coast are just a short drive away, a great day out for keen fossil hunters and beach lovers.

Heading into the property you will find yourself in the bright and airy open-plan living area. The lounge has a TV and a large corner sofa, ideal for relaxing after a day out exploring. There is ample space around the dining table to enjoy leisurely meals and the kitchen area is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, washer/dryer and fridge with ice compartment. From the kitchen, French doors open out onto the small enclosed decked area. Upstairs there is a pretty bedroom with a king-size bed and TV. Completing the accommodation upstairs, there is also a spacious, contemporary shower room with sink and WC.

Moving outside to the small enclosed decked area, there is a table and chairs, an ideal spot for al fresco drinks and dining, as well as a disposable BBQ stand. There is also private off-road parking for one car.

The cottage was lovely but probably only for 1-2 dogs max set in a beautiful village which I loved .

A bright, cozy property set in an ideal spot for getting out and about. Although it was damp and wet out some days the accommodation always felt super warm. Plenty of space for two adults and 3 large dogs. Well laid out kitchenette, dining area and sitting area that suited our needs. Our hosts were excellent, we were greeted on arrival , there was a lovely vase of roses, a small Christmas tree and delicious home made mince pies, just what we needed after our long car journey . The cottage was lovely and comfortable equipped with everything we needed. The village was really nice , we found some good walks around, helped by the iRead morenformation supplied by our hosts. we chose this location for visiting our daughter in Axminster which was only a ten minute drive from the cottage. This was a very nice clean cottage very well equipped kitchen everything you needed was there it's was lovely and quite but there was no view from the small patio just a very high fench there were plenty of public footpaths to take the dogs but if you want a pub for meals or a drink you would be out of luck the one in the village unfortunately shutRead more in lockdown and the one a mile away was only open once in a week The owner had placed flowers an a lovely cream tea in the cottage lovely Hide

Excellent location for sightseeing and walking (the entrance to the village though is single traffic for a couple of 100yds) as you are close to the coast and inland places of interest. Pound retreat was a fantastic dog friendly cottage that was comfortable and cosy. The cottage was well presented and the love The welcome treat of homemade scones, jam, cream and milk was a lovely surprise and very much enjoyed. The cottage was well located for the Jurassic coasts and also more rural locations and easy access into East Devon.

Had a wonderful break , straight after lockdown eased, Sara and Rob were excellent hosts with home made scones and roses awaiting us as we arrived. A lovely cottage for the two of us and our dog. There are footpaths close by for dog walking and the coast is only a short drive away. We also enjoyed the adjoining enclosed patio area most evenings - a cool spot for pre dinner drinks once the sun had gone down.

The cottage is a perfect retreat for a get away to that part of the uk. It's right on the county boarders if Devon and Somerset , so you get the best of both counties. We have dogs and was ideal for that too as you are quite rural.
