This charming detached property is set in the centre of the village of Mosterton, which boasts a local pub and shop. Combining contemporary living with character charm, it offers a great base for families to enjoy a relaxing break. Ideally placed for touring Dorset and Somerset, there are a selection of nearby towns to explore, such as Beaminster, Crewkerne and Bridport with its popular vintage shops. Head South and visit the stunning Jurassic Coastline, where you can spend an afternoon wandering through the quaint cobbled streets of Lyme Regis or stretch out on the beach at West Bay. Nearby, Charmouth is the ideal spot for a day out fossil hunting.

A gate leads from the parking area to the front door of this detached and traditional, thatched cottage. Stepping inside to the welcoming hallway, there is a spacious twin bedroom to your left with feature fireplace. Opposite, is the dining room with original features and lots of space for all the family to enjoy a meal together. A door leads from the dining room through to the stylish, well-equipped, galley kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. From the kitchen, a step up takes you up into a utility room with washing machine. Alongside, is a separate shower room with WC. Next door to the kitchen you will find the bright and airy lounge with cosy furniture and a Smart TV, the perfect spot to relax after a long day exploring the area. Heading back into the hallway you will find steep cottage style stairs leading up to the first floor. Here you will find two of the bedrooms, a king-size and a double. There is also a cosy den with an Xbox, DVD's, board games and bean bags. Completing this floor is a contemporary shower room with WC.

Heading outside, you will find an inviting enclosed garden which wraps around the side of the cottage where there is a patio area with a table and chairs, the perfect spot for al fresco meals and drinks. There is plenty of space on the lawn area for all the family to enjoy and there is off road parking for two cars outside the cottage.

Lovely and comfortable cottage in a great location to visit attractions in Dorset. I think we may have been the first guests after a break as there was some dust inside kitchen cupboards. South Cottage is a lovely place to stay, in a lovely part of the country that we have returned to time and time again. It is nicely laid out and set up with lots of cottage charm.

Fantastic cottage. Pub served a wonderful Sunday Roast. Spar shop has the most friendly couple owning it. The cottage beds were so comfy and spacious bedrooms. We will be back.

Beautifully renovated cottage, with before and after pictures hanging in the dining room. Extremely well equipped kitchen and both bathrooms. Plenty of books, games, games room, DVDs etc in case weather keeps you indoors. We had a lovely stay in the cottage and found it homely and comfortable. The garden was perfect for our dog and for us to relax in. Only concern was the signs of damp in the downstairs room, luckily we had a dry week so the room was usable. There was no mould present just a patch on wall which may have been historical, perhaps cause has been fixed.Read more The village of Mosterton was a great central base with fields to walk the dog off lead, friendly locals and a lovely shop. A beautiful cottage which was a fantastic base for exploring the surrounding area. It was great to have two designated parking spaces and an enclosed garden. The host was very thoughtful by providing a number of family games which was very useful when it rained.

Excellent clean cottage with plenty of equipment. Ideal location for all the local attractions. The local pub, the Admiral Hood, is well worth a visit and the food is really good.

The cottage was beautiful, truly a home.from home. Gill was always on hand should we have any questions. We travelled around and this was a perfect location for lots of the seaside towns. We would stay again!

We had such a wonderful time at South cottage. It was like home from home! Super comfortable, brilliant location and the added little touches that the owners left(milk, tea and biscuits on arrival) made it great from the start. We would come back to this cottage and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful cottage equipped with everything we needed. Very clean throughout and comfy beds and the garden is a real bonus.
