This pretty property nestles next to the owners’ home in a lovely rural setting punctuated by farms and country lanes, has been decorated in a country style, and provides a perfect couples retreat.

Perfectly placed, there is much to see and do nearby with the stunning cathedral city of Exeter being just a short drive away and offering a variety of shops, restaurants and amenities. Closer to home, the town of Tiverton boasts a pretty canal and from here you can hire a barge for the day. Walkers will also be in their element with the Blackdown Hills an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and both Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks all within each reach. Beach lovers can explore the world renowned Jurassic coastline, including picturesque Lyme Regis, and the pretty seaside resorts of Sidmouth and Branscombe. There are also a number of National Trust Properties in the area including the Killerton and Knightshayes.

As you step into the delightful property you immediately find yourself in a beautifully spacious lounge/kitchen/diner and here cosy sofas sit in front of a TV with DVD. The lovely country style kitchen is well-equipped and provides everything you need to make a home cooked meal including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine. From here, head up the stairs and on to the first floor and you will find a spacious double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC, and a door leading to steps to outside. There is also a bathroom with bath and held-held shower, separate shower, and WC on this floor.

Heading outside, there is a pretty lawn area directly to the front of the property, and small gravelled patio area with garden furniture, charcoal BBQ and lovely countryside views to the rear. There is allocated roadside parking for two cars is located to the side of the property.

The apple shed was just perfect, perfect location, perfect home from home situation and stunning countryside views and very quiet. The pictures of the cottage did not do it justice as it was far better than any picture can portray. If 11 out of 10 was available then this would be my vote.

Lovely cottage in a great location ideal for exploring Devon and visiting the National Trust houses which is why we chose it. The North and South coast are easily reached by car. Lucy and Alan made us feel very welcome at their cottage. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need to have an enjoyable holiday in a peaceful location.

AS SOON AS WE ARRIVED WE RECEIVED A VERY WARM WELCOME, WHICH INCLUDED THE 3 DOGS! WE THOUGHT THE CHOCOLATE BROWNIES AND THE VASE OF ROSES WERE A LOVELY TOUCH. NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE (NOT THAT WE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WHILST WE WERE THERE). WE HAD A VERY ENJOYABLE AND RESTFUL BREAK AND WOULD REALLY LIKE TO RETURN IN THE FUTURE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The apple shed is a perfect place to stay on holiday, local shops, pubs and easy access to the motorway, it is in a very nice location as you have no one else around so it was very quiet. The inside is really nice, lots of room and very well finished. The chocolate brownies on arrival were really really good!!! Great little cozy cottage for visiting the north and south coasts of Devon. Hosts very welcoming. Peace and quiet. Easy access off the M5. Located in a hamlet and hence short drive to local shops, supermarkets and pubs !!
