Spacious property with access to riverside walks and fishing. Situated in the rural location of Biddisham, two miles from the A38 and at the end of a country lane in the heart of Somerset countryside.

The historic towns and cities of Axbridge, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Taunton, Bath and Bristol are within good access by car or rail. The seaside towns of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare are within 20 minutes drive. The western edge of the Mendip Hills, known locally as Crooks Peak, rises to the east of the cottage, with the river at its base. In the far distance, the modern imposition of the M5 motorway weaves across the landscape, bringing together the benefits of the 21st century within an otherwise hidden retreat. You will be ideally situated for a range of activities, horse riding, cycling, walking and golf are all nearby.

You are welcomed into the delightful accommodation through the front door where you will be greeted by the snug, which is bursting with original features and flagstone flooring which continues throughout the ground floor. Within the snug you can relax on the comfy sofas while watching your favourite programme on the TV, or maybe enjoy a DVD in front of the wood burner. A step up takes you into the light and airy kitchen/diner. The well-equipped kitchen has a Range electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher, perfect for trying out new recipes or old family favourites. Leading from the kitchen is a wet room with shower and WC. There is also a large conservatory with an impressive timber structure, here you can enjoy the countryside views from the seating or dining areas. Heading upstairs are two comfortable double bedrooms. The first bedroom enjoys countryside views and has a TV and en-suite shower room with WC. The second bedroom is within the eaves of the property and has an en-suite bathroom with corner bath and WC, please be careful of the low sloping ceilings within this room, which is all part of the charm and character of this spacious cottage.

Venturing outside from the front door you will find yourself entering an enclosed sunny patio with seating. To the back of the property is an enclosed garden which leads to the riverbank where you will have a large lawn area with outside seating and private jetty. It is a perfect spot to take in the countryside views with your morning coffee, or a spot of al fresco dining. There really is plenty of room for dogs to play, but please note the garden is not enclosed from the river bank. You will also have use of a paddock and 250 metres of riverside walks and footpaths. There is an external shared utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Immediately to the side of the cottage is off-road parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely cottage in peaceful location, lovely views of the Mendips and a river at the bottom of the garden to do a spot of fishing and watch wildlife

Lovely quiet location. Stunning large garden room with gorgeous views of hills & pretty little garden thro floor to ceiling windows. Whole cottage very spacious. One of the best cottages we have hired.
