Bijou barn conversion property, lovingly styled in a sleek contemporary fashion, situated in the grounds of the owner’s property, in the village of Curry Rivel in Somerset.

This property enjoys a lovely village location in Curry Rivel, which is located some six miles east of the county town of Taunton. The village itself is home to a welcoming village pub, which not only offers in-house dining, but also a range of takeaway pizzas. There is also a handy shop and tearoom in the village, whilst a wider range of high street shops can be found in nearby Taunton. The area is home to a wide range of attractions to suit all tastes, including the Quantock Hills, the historic town of Glastonbury with its awe-inspiring ruined Abbey, and the town of Street with its shopping village.

This property is located within the grounds of the owner’s home, but guests are assured their privacy, and can enjoy a wonderfully relaxing retreat. On the ground floor, the heart of the property is the light-filled lounge which has large patio doors leading out to the front of the property. The contemporary furniture here as clearly been carefully chosen, and there is a TV/DVD, and a wood burner which keeps the room lovely and warm in all weathers. Just across from the lounge, guests will find the spacious kitchen/diner with a glass dining table, a comfortable sofa, and a good range of kitchen equipment including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washing machine. Stairs lead to the first-floor accommodation where the super-king-size bedroom can be found (can be made up as a twin on request). This restful room also benefits from its own TV and a stylish en-suite shower room with a shower and WC. Outside, there is a private patio area to the front of the property where guests will find a table and chairs, as well the hot tub, which is particularly inviting at night, when guests can enjoy the warm bubbling water under the star-filled skies. There is ample off-road parking available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Our stay was nice. The pub in the village is only dog friendly outside which we were a bit disappointed about. We had to drive out of the area to find good dog walks. The cottage is nice. It is small but had what we needed. We felt a week was a little too long. 2-3 nights would be ideal. We had 2 dogs and felt the patio area was a little on the smaRead morell side. Friendly welcome from Simon and Badger. Cosy cottage, beautifully presented. Convenient dog walks from the doorstep. We only had 3 nights but could have happily stayed longer.

Lovely holiday home in great location, owner friendly and helpfull. The hot tub and wood burner are a really nice addition. Nice walks and local pub/restaurant The Fire House is worth a visit. Langport is worth a visit with nice river walks and coffee and breakfast and antique shops. NT properties near by.

Great holiday retreat. Located centrally for so many destinations. We visited Glastonbury, Lyme regis, Taunton, Langport all within easy reach. Very high quality inside with an enormous bed and 2 person hit tub that we used every day. We took our dog and the little courtyard was secure as well as there being loads of good walking paths in the immedRead moreiate area. A really beautiful cottage which has been well thought out. Bed very comfortable as well. Hot tub was a real bonus after a day out for relaxing. Simon the owner really helpful and friendly with ideas on where to visit. The cottage is a central base for visiting both Somerset and Devon. Visited Sidmouth, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Abbey. Pub in the Read morevillage was good but dogs only allowed in beer garden which was a disappointment. Would definitely recommend for couples and dog owners. Hide

Lovely hosts, cottage very clean and had everything you needed . The pub was great the village has a good shop. The area of the cottage is all within an hours distance so handy for beach places. Our stay here was fabulous. Simon was really chilled and made us feel welcome. The location is perfect, most things are within an hour or less drive away. The local area, including the pub were fantastic for walking our pooch before our adventures. A relaxing dip in the hot tub was the best way to relax after our busy days. The cottage is excellent with everything you would need for a great break. Very comfortable with great facilities plus Simon and his family are excellent hosts and help whenever you need it. Excellent base for visiting Dorset and Devon too. Great pub in the village The Firehouse, good beer, staff and food. Would definitely recommend this property.

Just spent a lovely week at Woods Hideaway, a lovely little cottage that is tucked away from the road. Simon was a lovely host and ensured nothing was wrong through the week. The hot tub makes for a relaxing time in the evenings.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful Somerset village. First class facilities with hot tub and Wood burner. Comfortable bed and furniture with quality kitchen wear. The village has a well supplied shop and a really good pub. Look forward to returning to explore more of this lovely region.

We highly recommend this cottage! Its in a peaceful location and although is attached to the owners property, it feels remote. The host is very friendly and helpful. The house and hot tub were immaculately clean and comfortable. The bed was amazing! We absolutely loved our trip.
