Reconnect with nature and each other at this peaceful holiday lodge surrounded by 50 acres of private farmland in the heart of Somerset. Guided farm tours are available where children can meet and help feed the animals. Just 1.5 miles away is charming Langport, a tiny town that’s set on the banks of the River Parrett, offering a lovely place for relaxed waterside wanders. From here, you can follow a 3.5-mile circular walk through scenic fields and quiet lanes to Muchelney Abbey, managed by English Heritage. Within 20 miles, you’ll find famous day-out favourites including Glastonbury Tor, the mysterious cave networks of Wookey Hole, the shops and museums of Taunton, and the rolling landscapes of the Quantock Hills National Landscape. For a day by the sea, head to Burnham-on-Sea (21 miles), home to one of Europe’s longest sandy beaches. A brilliant all-weather option for families is the Fleet Air Arm Museum (11 miles), where you can get up close to historic aircraft and even see inside the Concorde.

Climb three external steps to enter this welcoming retreat, where you can enjoy the ease of single-storey living inside. Discover a bright and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where natural light pours in through two sets of French doors. These open directly onto a private, enclosed decked terrace overlooking a paddock – the perfect spot for morning coffee or sundowners at the end of the day. Sink into plush sofas and relax in front of the Smart TV, or gather around the dining table to savour meals with a view. The kitchen comes well equipped for everything from lazy breakfasts to hearty evening feasts, and there’s a useful utility room with a washing machine, ideal for longer stays. The property offers two beautifully finished bedrooms in soft, calming tones: a double room with its own en-suite shower room, and a cosy twin. A family bathroom with a shower over the bath rounds off the interior layout.

Outside, discover your own private lawn and patio, complete with a covered hot tub for indulgent soaks anytime of year. There is ample off-road parking for added convenience, so you can come and go with ease during your stay.

Everything you need to get away from the hustle & bustle of life in the city/town. OK, we're town & pub people and don't really walk a huge amount anywhere but we gave it a go. Got lost a few times however with a little trial & error we made it to the local town Langport. Would highly recommend that you give it a go. There's also a Slinky bus serviRead morece that will pick you up from the holiday park across the road (you will need to load an app on your phone for this and pre-book all trips - Note, this service does not run late into the evening). Our hosts we're amazing and checked up on us on a few occasions to ensure all was OK. Do the farm tour or you'll miss out on a few surprises. Hot tub was maintained daily so clean a ready to go every day. Beds were very comfortable, lots of towels & a well equipped kitchen for self catering. Fresh coffee machine was a bonus. Milk and bread to get us started was a lovely touch. There's a selection of DVD's and board games for those wet summer evening's in. All in all, fantastic stay and would highly recommend. Highlights - Wookey Hole, Biere Cider Farm (Close by) & peace & quiet. Hide
