An attractive Somerset hideaway, this tranquil holiday home captures magical views across its picturesque, rural surroundings. Nestled in the small village of Duddlestone, 3.5 miles from Taunton, the two-bedroom getaway makes an idyllic base for four guests seeking to be close to nature. Less than 1 mile from the fringes of the Blackdown Hills, it is 6.5 miles from Castle Neroche, with its leafy trails and views over the Vale of Taunton. Here you can also see the earthen ramparts where an Iron Age hillfort and Norman castle once stood. Venture into Taunton to potter in independent shops, dine out in a choice of eateries and visit the Castle and Museum of Somerset. Taunton Racecourse is less than 1 mile from the property. Plan a day out to the Quantock Hills, 6.5 miles away, or the Jurassic coast at Lyme Regis, 20 miles away, where the beach is renowned for its fossils.

Tear yourselves away from the enchanting scenery to enter the property and discover it offers stylish accommodation. From the entrance hall, climb the stairs to emerge on a spacious landing, where there are two utility cupboards, one with a handy fridge/freezer and the other with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Once upstairs all the accommodation is on one floor. Head on into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its vaulted ceiling and bright ambience, to unwind after your busy day. Throw open the French doors to the Juliet balcony in here during the summer months to bring in the sunshine and country air or take a seat on the sofa and absorb the views through the window. As night falls, find a film on the Smart TV and gather round. The kitchen area has been equipped with everything you might require to rustle up a hearty breakfast or delicious dinner. The glass table, with its comfortable chairs, is the perfect spot for enjoying your tasty Somerset dishes over a bottle of wine. When you are ready to rest your head on your pillow head back to the landing where you will find two delightful king-size bedrooms, plus a contemporary shower room.

Soak up the serenity and look out for wildlife, including deer, pheasants, buzzards and woodpeckers, from your private enclosed garden. Fire up the gas BBQ and cook supper out in the evening sunshine. Pop open a bottle of chilled fizz, then wallow in the hot tub and gaze up at the night sky for a spell, before pulling on the soft robes provided. Guests are also very welcome to stroll through the shared gardens, which are accessed via security gates, down a private drive. There is ample off-road parking.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The accommodation is very comfortable and the family are really lovely and friendly, although not obtrusive. Easy to get to places of interest and also quiet on a night. The blinds in one of the bedrooms really helped with sleeping, as did the comfortable beds. The hot tube was very welcome and we also used the barbecRead moreue which was excellent. Would definitely recommend this property Hide
