The thriving village of Westwood is home to a popular pub and the National Trust’s historic Westwood Manor. Other properties cared for by the National Trust locally include The Courts Garden and Lacock Abbey, which are within 9 miles of the property. Slightly further afield is spectacular Stourhead (16 miles), which is a particular treat in the autumn. The closest town is Bradford-on-Avon (1.5 miles) where you can cycle or walk beside the river and canal to Avoncliff. Or head into the beautiful city of Bath just 9 miles away and explore the Roman Baths, Abbey, or Costume Museum before visiting one of the many eateries. Further attractions within reach include Longleat, Avebury, and Malmesbury, all within 20 miles.

A shared drive leads to this single storey property, newly renovated in 2022. The door opens into a generous hallway with the lounge on the left, which has a Smart TV and wood burner (first basket of logs included). To the right are the two bedrooms, one with a super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be arranged as a twin on request) and the other, a king-size. The bedrooms share the stylish bathroom, which has a striking freestanding bath, separate walk-in shower, and WC. To the left of the hallway is the sociable open-plan kitchen/diner, which is contemporary in style and equipped with an electric oven and hob, combination steam oven, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. There is space to dine just opposite and doors to the garden. Next door is a useful cloakroom with a washer/dryer and a separate WC.

Accessed via either the utility room or the kitchen/diner, to the rear of the property is a pretty garden with seating and views over pastureland. Please note the garden is not enclosed. There is another open area of garden to the front of the property and ample off-road parking at the front and the driveway to the side.

Beautifully equipped, clean and inviting accommodation in a quiet area but close to many attractions. The owners are very friendly and approachable, and we were delighted to be treated to lovely home made scones and strawberry jam on our arrival, together with a tub of clotted cream!

We booked our stay at Orchardlea at 9:45pm the night before we went and luckily for us they were able to accommodate us. I fancied a change of scenery for the weekend and this place didn't disappoint 1 bit, the location is stunning, the views out the back garden of an evening whilst enjoying a glass of wine and listening to the birds chirping away Read morewas bliss. We stayed with our 2 young children who loved every second of the stay and we even though we were only there for a day and half we managed to get a fair bit done. Special nod to the pub that is 20-30 yards away which were able to squeeze us in for a lovely Sunday roast. We will definitely be back and very much looking forward to it. Hide

Exceptional property, very spacious and comfortable. Equipped to a very high standard. The front and rear gardens are beautiful. The owners are a lovely couple who are doing a great job. This our 3rd Year staying at Orchardlea. The Bungalow is so well equipped Lovely quiet setting. Plenty of good pubs with food.Local pub is a whole 30 yards from the driveway .

This cottage is second to none. I have a large vehicle and there was plenty of room to turn around and park. The main bath/shower room is glorious and modern. Comfy beds and longe. The gardens are fantastic with the real looking across fields and the frint is lovely to sit in. Central to everywhere and has a great pub just 2 minutes walk away. Orchardlea was a comfortable and very well equipped holiday home. Lower Westwood Village was in a very good location for trips out to Bath,Lacock,Avebury and Bradford on Avon of course.The canal walk to Avon cliff was interesting (be aware the pub there is closed for renovation). A beautifully presented bungalow in a village that provides local walks, local sites of interest and limited but good local amenities. The property is situated perfectly for touring the areas beautiful countryside, cities and tourist attractions and offers all the comfort of home. A very enjoyable, comfortable and memorable holiday.

A third visit for us to this lovely bungalow near Bradford-on-Avon. We were blessed with dry sunny weather, although very cold for the entire week! There are a great choice of walks in the area if you are keen walkers, easy access to Bath and some lovely places to visit, such as Stourhead and the Westonbirt Arboretum near Tetbury. The cottage is like a TARDIS, from the online photos its deceiving as its quite large for 4, super location if you like being away from hustle, ideal position for may POI's. Exceptionally clean with plenty of equipment/utensils if you intend staying in to cook etc. Bob and Jenny very pleasant and helpful if required. We have stayed at Orchardlea twice now and found it perfect for us. It is spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything we needed. It is in an ideal location for touring both Somerset and Wiltshire. We definitely would like to visit again. Well done!!

A second visit for us to this lovely holiday bungalow. Set in a nice village with easy access into Bath, Bradford-on-Avon and for local facilities. There are lots of footpaths in the immediate area and if you enjoy walking, the Kennet & Avon Canal towpath is accessible from Upper Westwood down to Avoncliff. Another lovely stay.Have already rebooked for next year.Bungalow has everything you need , so well eequipped.Local Community Shop well stocked and the New Inn Pub serves good food but closed on Monday and Tuesday.Nearest Supermarket is Sainsbury's on Bradford on Avon just down the road .

We can definitely recommend this holiday cottage. It is beautifully presented, very clean and very comfortable. The location is excellent for travelling into Bath and there are a number of great walks locally from the village, which means that you don't need to take the car. This was our third stay at Orchardlea. We love the location, peacefulness, spaciousness and views over the fields at the back. It is a real home from home and the owners go above and beyond to make you feel very welcome and comfortable. It is so convenient for Bradford on Avon, Bath and Longleat whilst being in a quiet spot.

Excellent property, great location for exploring the area. Everything had been thought of so nice not to have to worry about kitchen items for cooking etc. Local pub excellent, 1 minute walk, good food and good value for money. Local supermarket 1.1 mile away and 1.5 from the centre of Bradford on Avon. Beautiful canal walks, churches and shops. WoRead moreuld definitely visit again. Orchardlea has everything you could possibly need it is a lovely property in an ideal location for visiting Somerset and Wiltshire and into the Cotswolds.
