This beautiful former railway worker’s cottage is set in a quiet location in the heart of the seaside town of Minehead, just 300 metres from the sandy beach and overlooking the West Somerset Steam Railway Station. Enjoy the varied shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, or stroll along the esplanade towards the harbour and you will come to the start of the South West Coast Path, covering 630 miles of pathways spanning four counties! Exmoor National Park is within 3 miles and has miles of breathtaking countryside to enjoy. Head up to Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor’s highest point rising to 520 metres, and don’t forget to take in the pretty villages on the way, like medieval Dunster (2.5 miles) with its incredible castle, Holnicote Estate is wonderful for an explore and Porlock (6 miles) with its harbour and weir. Or leave the car behind and catch the open top bus to Ilfracombe taking in the stunning coastline and wilds of Exmoor along the way! The steam trains run straight from the cottage all over West Somerset and makes for a fun family day out. The North Devon beaches are a drive away and offer amazing surf and perfect sandcastle building.

A garden path leads to the front door of this Victorian cottage which has retained many of it's original features and remains true to its heritage. The open-plan lounge/diner has plenty of comfortable seating, a Smart TV, a wood burner-effect electric fire in the lounge area and a dining area enjoying views over the garden. The stylish, well-equipped kitchen has all the facilities you will need to cook a lazy breakfast or a delicious feast. Completing the ground floor is a family shower room. Heading upstairs, you will find two beautifully decorated bedrooms. The stylish master bedroom has a king-size bed and fabulous views over the garden towards the steam railway station, whilst the contemporary second bedroom overlooks the rear courtyard and has twin beds, making this cottage perfect for families, friends, and couples.
To the front of the property, there is a pretty garden with a seating area, the perfect spot to relax after a day visiting the local attractions. The rear enclosed courtyard has café style seating and offers access to the utility  room with a washing machine and tumble dryer plus access to the private parking area.

Railway Cottage is a beautiful property, perfectly located to explore the area. It's exceptionally well equipped and presented. Communication with the owner was friendly and easy and the welcome goodies were an unexpected treat on our arrival. We're already booked to go back next year!

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage close to the sea, but also only a short walk to the high street and all the local amenities. The owner has thought of every little thing to help you enjoy your holiday , and has provided an excellent instructions manual plus lots of local info eg re local walks. This cottage is absolutely beautiful. The owner has thought of everything to make your stay perfect. It is immaculately clean and very well equipped. The situation is also excellent. We had a lovely holiday and would recommend both the cottage and the town of Minehead.

A very comfortable, well equipped cottage. The location is brilliant. Just minutes from the beach and right next to the Steam Railway. No distance to walk to the shops and restaurants. Lots to see in both Minehead and the surrounding area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at Railway Cottage. Extremely well equipped, the Owner has thought of everything from sensor operated lights on the stairs of a night-time to a welcome cream tea with a quart of milk. The Information Folder contains everything you need to know relating to Railway Cottage and also tells of various things to dRead moreo in Minehead and the surrounding areas. We had a lovely 3 night break here over Easter. House was clean and cosy. Nice touch with milk, wine and treats on arrival. It's well located just a short walk to the beach, shops and pubs if you're staying local. We had days out to Dunster Castle, Polark weir and Lynmouth which were all a short drive away and great days out which all the family enRead morejoyed. A beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated cottage. Sue the owner clearly has an eye for detail and takes great pride in both the presentation of the premises and catering for the needs of her guests. Location strikes an ideal balance between being quiet and yet within easy walking distance of Minehead centre / seafront and the brilliant WestRead more Somerset Heritage Railway (which is right on the doorstep). 5 star accommodation beautifully presented and adjacent to the Somerset heritage railway. The parking and access to it is more suited to a smaller vehicle but my 15ft 11 inch long vehicle managed it. There is plenty of free on-street parking along with the adjacent public car park open 24 hours.
