CHEDDAR HOLIDAYS

Caves, caverns and the UK’s cheese capital

Visit Cheddar

If the first thing that comes to mind when you mention a destination is cheese, you just know it’s going to be good. Cheddar is one of Somerset’s most popular destinations, where you can revel in the glorious scenery of the Gorge, visit the fun-packed Wookey Hole, and of course sample some of the cheese on offer! It’s also on the fringes of the Mendip Hills, so you’re guaranteed plenty of beautiful walks and drives.

The north of Somerset is where you’ll find the most populated towns and cities along with the majority of beaches that are in the county. Bristol is the largest city in the county and is home to a host of historical buildings and fun days out with great access to the city via the M5. Clifton is part of the city and is home to Bristol Zoo.

A gorgeous destination

Whether you visit for the food, the scenery, the attractions, or a bit of everything, there really is a little something for everyone at Cheddar.

An open-top tour bus is perfect to observe and find out more about the spectacular cliffs that reach up to 500 feet in places, with naturally dramatic landscapes to be admired all around. For views across the surrounding landscape though, it’s Lookout Tower where you’ll want to head to soak it all up.

Wookey Hole offers fun for all of the family and is one of the county’s best-loved attractions, whilst the village itself is famed for its range of shops selling local crafts and, of course, its delicious cheese which is still made in the same way today as it has been for centuries.
