This delightful former stable groom cottage is located in the small town of Withypool, sitting in the heart of the stunning and dramatic Exmoor National Park which offers a fantastic range of breath-taking walks with spectacular views. You can walk Tarr Steps in the heart of Exmoor and enjoy the sights of the beautiful wooded valley of the River Barle. There are also opportunities for horse riding and fishing nearby. A short drive away is the glorious North Devon coast, with its picturesque views, sandy beaches, charming seaside towns including Porlock, Lynmouth and Lynton, the Valley of the Rocks, and the breath-taking coastal walk from Heddons Mouth to Woody Bay.

Enter into the property and find yourself in the hallway, perfect for hanging coats and storing shoes. Heading into the cosy lounge a place where you can relax after a busy day of exploring and catch up of your favourite programme on the TV, whilst the wood burner crackles away in the background. The open-plan kitchen/diner is well-equipped with electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge, wine cooler and a dining table for four. Head up the stairs to the cottages two bedrooms, the master king-size bedroom with a spectacular view and a spacious twin. Completing the accommodation is the bathroom with beautiful roll-top bath, separate shower and WC.

Venture outside to the fully enclosed garden area which offers garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ, the perfect space for al fresco dining. For guests booking both properties and requiring access to each cottage, the secure gate between the adjoining properties can be unlocked, allowing access for both properties.

There is an additional fridge/freezer in the Tack Room, including a washing machine and dryer for use by both cottages. There is ample  off-road parking.

We had a lovely, relaxing break at Stag Cottage. The owner helpfully showed us the ropes. when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped and the main sitting room was a comfortable space. The bathroom was fantastic with both a large bath and also a wonderful walk-in shower. Overall, we loved our stay and recommend Stag Cottage.

Wonderful setting with a delightful ex horse groom's cottage slap bang in the middle. It is an ideal base for seeing all the sights Exmoor has to offer. All the pubs are what I call genuine and serve really well cooked food. Our hosts were very welcoming and went to great lengths to introduce us to their cottage. The cottage was in a beautiful setting with a walkable village nearby. The cottage had everything you needed for a relaxing stay and was very well equipped. The owners gave us a great welcome and a lot of useful information related to the area. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at Stag Cottage over new year - the cottage was perfect for our needs and a great location for hiking. We went to the local pub for dinner on NYE but otherwise cooked from the well equipped kitchen at the cottage. Would recommend and hope to stay again!

Lovely warm cottage that is private and quiet. The garden is very dog friendly and escape proof. This is our second visit to Stag Cottage this year and we have had a lovely break both times. The cottage is perfectly situated for walks on Exmoor but also not too far away from the coast. The owners are friendly and accommodating.

Highly recommend staying here, fantastic accommodation, location is rural yet amenities within 30 minutes drive. Fab beach at Dunster and Tarr steps with the river walk was beautiful. Perfect setup for our spaniel dogs to enjoy their holiday too!

The cottage was beautifully presented and had everything that a family of four needed. The furniture and beds were really comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is perfectly placed for visiting the coast and we had a beautiful day riding the steam engine from Minehead.
