A lovingly furnished family house with countryside views, located in the village of Brompton Ralph in the heart of Somerset with an abundance of places to visit nearby. Minehead is a traditional seaside resort with sandy beaches, a heritage steam railway, historic harbour and penny arcades. Go sea fishing from Watchet or visit the stretch of beach at Blue Anchor.  Have an adventure day with a trip to Vivary Park High Ropes or go bowling in Taunton (11 miles) and enjoy the shopping and many eateries. For water sport lovers, Wimbleball Lake (10 miles ) has kayaking, paddleboarding, dingy sailing and a wonderful café. Exmoor is on your doorstep with fabulous walks, ancient villages and folk festivals, Olde Worlde pubs, mountain biking, horse riding and wildlife. The West Somerset Railway Station is 6 miles away and gives a fantastic day out on the 20 miles of track up to Minehead through the countryside and coastline. Dunster medieval village, castle, woods and parkland  ( 12 miles ) are worth the visit with plenty of fun for all the family and your dogs too. If you fancy a swim closer to home, Wiviliscombe Open Air Pool ( 4 miles ) offers a welcome cool down and plenty of pubs and eateries to choose from.

Stepping inside this beautiful retreat, kick off your shoes and hang your coats in the porch and hallway. To your right is the comfortable lounge with big squashy sofa's in which to relax and unwind after a busy day. Maybe light the woodburner and find a movie on the Smart TV. Across the hall is the spacious open plan kitchen/diner, with a beautiful wood burner and dining table for planning your days out, or reminiscing on   your return. Cook up a meal in the well-equipped large kitchen with lovely periodic features. To the rear of the kitchen area up a couple of steps is a quite reading/snug room with countryside views, complete with a sofa and bistro table to read your book or have an afternoon snooze. Up the cottage stairs and to your right at the end of the corridor is a beautifully decorated super-king-size zip-and- link bedroom with plenty of space. Situated a door down is the stunning family bathroom with a roll top bath and garden views. To the left of the forked staircase, you have another bathroom with shower and WC, and completing the cottage are a king-size zip-and-link bedroom and the master super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom both with tranquil countryside views from the window.

Outside the kitchen there is a decked dining area with table and chairs with a large wind sail overhead for shade. The enclosed garden has numerous levels and offers grassed areas with stone pathways through the flower beds. A firepit offers a focal point for evening chatter with marshmallows and star gazing opportunities. Sun loungers offer a relaxing sun bathe on the deck too.

Your four legged friend will love their walks, straight out from the cottage door. Rambling Somerset fields, woodlands and The Coleridge Way to explore and enjoy.

This accommodation was excellent. We spent Xmas week - 6 adults and two babies + dog The log fires were a bonus. The sitting room was warm and cosy and decorated for Xmas The kitchen was well equipped but we did need scales. There was continuous hot water and a large stove to cook the Xmas dinner. The owners very friendly, helpful and responsive. IRead more would highly recommend. Hide

Copperfinches is a lovely property in a great location. Rolling hills, tucked away but also conveniently located for Exmoor, the coast and attractions. Walks from the property and nearby national routes. It is cosy but also spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. We didn't get chance to use Read morethe deck or bbq due to the weather but the little snug room was a super spot. Hide

A very comfortable spacious cottage with a pretty garden. The views are beautiful even in the rain!! The kitchen is well equipped for six people and a super space to chat over breakfast or dinner.
