Set around the yard of the owner’s small farm it is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet, but also the perfect base to explore this stunning area of Exmoor and Somerset. From the top gate of the farm, guests can walk up to the summit of Dunkery Beacon, where the views are far-reaching. The local village of Wheddon Cross is a short distance away and has a well-stocked local shop, pub and is most renowned for its displays of snowdrops in February each year. Visit the Medieval town of Dunster with its variety of shops, cafes and castle. Other points of interest include the West Somerset Steam Railway, Valley of the Rocks and Lynton and Lynmouth with its water powered cliff railway.
On entering this cottage, you will go straight into the lounge which is a perfect place to enjoy time with family and friends where you can all enjoy watching a movie on the TV/DVD. In the summer, you can open the stable door to let the outside in and in the cooler months light the wood burner for a cosier feel. Two steps lead down to a separate kitchen/diner which is a perfect room to enjoy some family meals together and is well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. Heading upstairs you will find two twin bedrooms (which can be made up as super king-size zip-and-link on request), one of the bedrooms has a small balcony. The family shower room is also on this floor and has a shower and WC. Regret no children under the age of 16.
Venturing outside through the stable door guests will find an enclosed decked area with seating, here you can enjoy the warm Somerset evenings and the far-reaching views. Proceed down three steps to the small enclosed garden where you can relax and enjoy a glass of wine. In a separate building, you will find individual lockable store cupboards for bikes and surf boards, laundry facilities and even a hose and a sink with hot water for washing your four legged friends. With dogs in mind there is also a useful dog kennel and run located below the decking steps.
