The lakes offer wonderful rambling opportunities and walks can be started direct from the property. The barn is centrally located and within easy driving distance to the regional city of Bristol offering shopping facilities, an ice rink, theatres, cinemas, bars and restaurants. The historic city of Bath has much to discover with cultural entertainment including museums and theatres. Wells, with its famous cathedral, is within a 20 minute drive as is the town of Cheddar. Local attractions in the area include Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves.

This is a lovely property! It is very peaceful and quiet; about 2 miles off the A38 along a maze of single track roads so minimal passing traffic and no distant rumble of traffic. It is convenient for travel to multiple interesting places for day trips. Situated up a hillside, the view across the valley and down to the lake is lovely and the minimaRead morel light pollution allows great star-gazing on a clear night. There are actually 3 bedrooms in this cottage so it could accommodate 5 people . The cottage was lovely and warm and had everything we needed for our long weekend . The cottage had been tastefully decorated and was immaculately clean . Me and my fianc stayed at this lovely property for a week over Christmas, and it was the perfect place. Beautiful scenery, incredible cottage which had everything we needed and more, and super clean! The owners were very friendly and left us some homemade mince pies with a bottle of bubbly which was such a wonderful touch. We cannot rate The Forge highly enough. Even so, one of our friends is possibly going to book a stay here for her birthday. The property is stunning, the area is so beautiful & the facilities perfect. There is so much to see & do within an hours drive, in most directions. For me, having metastatic breast & secondary incurable bone cancer, the layouRead moret, the walk in shower etc was amazing for me & even walks through the lanes, especially to St Marys church, were easily managed. Stunning location with breathtaking views. You will never get tired of looking at Blagdon Lake and The Mendips! The Forge is beautifully appointed and is spotlessly clean. Superb property and location, outstanding views. Many have said about narrow roads, we had a big 4x4 and it would not deter us from visiting again. Just slow down from your hectic life and de stress here, it is well worth the visit. Owners were near only if needed and the cakes and flowers much appreciated. 10 out of 10

This is a very comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings. Lovely patio suitable for eating outside. A resident woodpecker and much more at the bird feeing station. Excellent heating arrangements. Modern and comfortable. You do need to be prepared to drive on one track roads and have good reversing skills!!!

The location is quiet and peaceful, while ideal for trips to Bristol, Bath and the Mendips and has a stunning view over Blagdon Lake. The cottage was smart, clean, comfortable and well-provided with everything we needed. Perfect for our family of four. Worth stocking up on food as the nearest shop is some distance away!

The Forge is a lovely place to stay. Very peaceful and relaxing, we stayed during the winter and it was very cosy, although I imagine it's even better in the summer with the outside space and stunning views. The only slight downside is that there are some very narrow lanes as you get near to the cottage, but this is probably one of the reasons it'sRead more so peaceful, very little passing traffic. The Forge has a beautiful view of the lake from the garden and the living room. Everything inside was in good condition. Cottage warm and comfortable. Superb cottage in stunning location. Beware of single track potholes roads and make sure you have a map! But if walking, relaxing, bird watching is your thing you couldn't find a better place. And plenty of places to visit nearby.

A beautiful property and location. Living area with views and comfortable during wet days for our family playtime. So much to do locally using car - we had no trouble following directions given by owner to the local villages. Walks from cottage were really pretty.

I stayed at The Forge (Fri 29th Apr - Mon 2nd May) with my wife and two children. What a beautiful property this is, sat up on the hillside with spectacular views of Blagdon Lake. The Forge has all the comforts of home, great kitchen area, and lounge. It actually has sleeping for five people.
