Lovingly renovated annexe providing a relaxing getaway where no attention to detail has been forgotten. A perfect location for those wanting to experience the countryside at its finest, yet with lots to discover on the doorstep.

This wonderful escape is situated in a very rural tranquil setting in one of the most popular parts of Somerset, midway between Wells and Glastonbury. Wells is the smallest city in England and is famed for its cathedral and Bishops Palace while Glastonbury is renowned for its Tor and Abbey Ruins, and both have a lovely cafe culture and plenty of amenities, including weekly street markets. You are also a mile from the famous Glastonbury festival site. Hauser & Wirth’s fabulous modern art gallery with its famous gardens and Roth Bar and Grill, Bruton with its eclectic mix of shops and restaurants and The Newt are all less than 12 miles from the property. Other attractions and places of interest accessible from here include Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge, the Shapwick Nature Reserve, the beautiful historic city of Bath and discount shopping at the Clarks Village and Kilver Court, all within 22 miles. There is also a good selection of National Trust properties and gardens to explore.

On entering this stylish property, you are immediately greeted by a light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with French doors opening into a private garden, a perfect place for a peaceful break away. Settle in for a snug evening with and a film on the Smart TV in front of the contemporary electric fire. The kitchen has an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher and Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Head upstairs to the beautiful king-size bedroom and sleep tight after exploring the wonderful countryside. Completing the accommodation is an immaculate en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.

There is a private secluded garden with a patio area. Guests will find a table & chairs and sun loungers where you can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining and a glass of wine under the star-filled skies. Off-road parking for one car can be found in front of the property.

My husband and myself stayed at this property for 5 beautiful days. We were welcomed when we arrived. Absolutely lovely people who provided us with a delicious Victoria sponge as a welcome gift. Every comfort catered for. The cottage is appointed to a very high standard. Having use of the beautiful garden was very welcome. The owners are a delightful couple and the very generous welcome pack was very much appreciated. We enjoyed a very peaceful stay.

The Larder was exceptional we could not find any fault it was beautifully decorated. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They left us a lovely sponge also a box of goodies which were most appreciated.

The Larder exceeded our expectations. It was stylish, comfortable and very well equipped. The setting was peaceful and made an excellent base for visiting the many historic houses in the area. We were given a friendly welcome by our hosts together with a homemade cake and welcome basket. We really enjoyed our time at The Larder.

We had a lovely holiday. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed. It is a beautiful cottage in an equally beautiful location. There is plenty to do in the local and surrounding areas too. Wells is beautiful with so much to offer. We would love to stay here again, its definitely a favourite!

Our stay in The Larder proved to be very comfortable, relaxing and quiet. The owners made us feel very welcome and it was a great base to explore the main attractions of the area.

The larder is a wonderful modern holiday home in a very peaceful location. It is compact but perfectly adequate for a couple like us. The local roads approaching the property are rather narrow but not busy so were not a problem. Overall, we found it to be well equipped and maintained and would recommend it highly. Our favourite local destination waRead mores definitely Wells, with the cathedral, Bishop's Palace and a great variety of shops and eateries. We had a very good meal at the Crown pub. Hide

we found the larder long barn a very nice holiday cottage in excellent condition and along with the owners .Mr.andMrs vaughan who we found most helpful.We have stayed in quiet a few cottages this was probably the second best we have stayed and only being surpassed because the other had a sea view....in the company's advert it should maybe stated thRead moreat it is in a rather remote area.No complaints whatsoever. We had a lovely stay at The Larder, nr Wells. The cottage is beautifully decorated and everything you could want is provided. The welcome hamper and homemade cake were a lovely touch. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend.

It's set in the tiny hamlet of West Compton, just a few miles from Shepton Mallet and the Aincient cathedral city of Wells. As soon as you arrive you are free to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The Larder is a cosy and comfortable place to stay, in an excellent location within reach of local towns and sights to see. The owners were so friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. Cant fault it at all!
