Set on the edge of a rural village, yet with easy access to pretty Sherborne and the Dorset/Somerset border, this charming studio is the ideal bolthole for two, whatever the time of year. Boasting a private, enclosed garden with a fire pit and far-reaching views across beautiful countryside.

The village of Charlton Horethorne has a pub within the centre and beautiful countryside surrounds. Within easy reach of the A303 and A30, the property is ideally located for exploring Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. Only 5.5 miles from the bustling town of Sherborne, there is plenty to explore including the romantic castle ruins and 'new' castle. The honey-coloured streets are home to a historic abbey as well as numerous shops, pubs, cafes and artisan boutiques. Those wishing to explore the countryside will find many walking routes from the village which weave through this unspoilt landscape, or you can head off in the car to visit Haynes Motor Museum or Wincanton Racecourse, both within 5 miles. Glastonbury, the cathedral city of Wells, Montacute House and Gardens, Stourhead Estate and Gardens, and Cerne Abbas are all within 15 miles.

A picket gate gives access to the private stable door into the property. Once inside you are met with a charming, modern studio-style space. There is a contemporary kitchen area to the right, with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, and fridge with ice compartment. There is space to dine at the breakfast bar and a cosy lounge area just opposite with a Smart TV. Set to the rear of the space are an inviting king-size bed and full-length mirrored sliding doors, creating a light and bright ambience and giving access to the en-suite shower room with WC. There is also a good-sized wardrobe area with plenty of hanging and shelf space.

Heading back through the stable-style entrance door will take you into the enclosed garden which is laid to gravel and has uninterrupted views across the surrounding countryside. There is outdoor furniture and a fire pit/BBQ, ideal for al fresco dining. The enclosed garden wraps around to the side of the property where there is also a sheltered seating arch by the patio doors, the perfect spot to enjoy the views and relax. Guests are welcome to explore the owners’ grounds and landscaped gardens which can be accessed from the property. To the front of the property is an off-road parking space for one car.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Ash Lodge annexe. Everything you could possibly need is supplied in the very clean kitchen. The lodge annexe is lovely and comfortable, with a comfy bed and a fabulous, powerful, hot shower. The owner Bev has thought of everything which added to the enjoyment of our holiday along with the friendliness of Lizzie and HaRead morervey (Bevs daughter and son in law) Hide

Cosy and very well equipped cottage. The owners are very friendly and happy to help. Because of the location, the night rest is perfect: it is dark and quiet at night. We enjoyed our stay very much. Not only the nights!

We booked the annex as a last minute holiday in May. So glad we did, we both really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful location with views over the countryside. Bev and Martin were very friendly and made us very welcome. Ideal accommodation for staying with a dog as you have your own little garden space. Lovely well equipped annex. Would highly recommend!
