This stylish barn conversion is nestled in the traditional Somerset village of Shapwick on the Polden Hills and has undergone a meticulous renovation. Situated just west of Glastonbury, it is a great spot for those requiring a peaceful holiday, or for those wishing to enjoy all that Somerset has to offer with its convenient location. There is a choice of walks and cycle routes virtually on the doorstep, plus bird watching at an RSPB Nature Reserve on the Somerset Levels. Somerset's Avalon Marshes and Shapwick Heath National Nature Reserve are also both within 2 miles. Visit the sandy and dramatic beaches of Burnham-on-Sea (13 miles) or enjoy a day out slightly further afield on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. There are attractions for all tastes with Glastonbury Tor (7 miles), Cheddar Gorge (12 miles), the cathedral city of Wells (12 miles), Clarks Village at Street (5 miles), or the many National Trust properties.

This fabulous, deceptively spacious property is a charming place for a special break away. Step inside and you will immediately find yourself in the light and airy lounge/kitchen/diner where you can settle in for a snug evening with a film on the Smart TV in front of the warming Chilly Penguin wood burner, which even has a little oven to cook on. Enjoy cooking up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen and savour mealtimes together around the dining table. There are French doors opening into an enclosed courtyard garden and a further door opening into a small undercover seating area, which is at the front of the property and is perfect for rainy days. Completing the downstairs accommodation is the first of the two bedrooms: a king-size room with a walk-in wardrobe and French doors to the courtyard. Within this bedroom is a staircase which leads to the immaculate en-suite bathroom which has been cleverly built in the eaves of the property. The second bedroom is a twin room with an en-suite shower room and an apex ceiling with beautiful, exposed beams. It is accessed via an open spiral staircase from the lounge/kitchen/diner and has also been built in the eaves of the property with sloping ceilings.

The enclosed courtyard garden is a delightful outside space to relax in and has a table and chairs, so you can enjoy your morning coffee or some al fresco dining. Guests can also enjoy a shared lawned garden that boasts beautiful views across to Glastonbury Tor and Cheddar Gorge. Running through the garden is a quaint stream for that touch of tranquillity – please keep an eye on any little ones running around here.
