Beautiful former stable groom cottage situated in the heart of Exmoor National Park, this cosy cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway for two.

This delightful cottage is located in the small town of Withypool, sitting in the heart of the stunning and dramatic Exmoor National Park which offers a fantastic range of breath-taking walks with spectacular views. You can walk Tarr Steps in the heart of Exmoor and enjoy the sights of the beautiful wooded valley of the River Barle. There are also opportunities for horse riding and fishing nearby. A short drive away is the glorious North Devon coast, with its picturesque views, sandy beaches, charming seaside towns including Porlock, Lynmouth and Lynton, the Valley of the Rocks, and the breath-taking coastal walk from Heddons Mouth to Woody Bay.

Enter into the property and find yourself in the hallway, perfect for hanging coats and storing shoes. Heading into the cosy lounge area, which has comfortable seating surrounding the TV and wood burner. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking a romantic meal for two with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment and washer/dryer. Make your way up the original steep staircase to find the two bedrooms, the master king-size bedroom and dressing area along with stunning views out over the countryside and a cosy single room. Completing the accommodation is a shower room with shower and WC. Please note the staircase to the bedrooms is very steep and narrow and would not be suitable for children or elderly. There is an adjoining property that can be opened through a locked and sound insulated door for families wishing to travel together but have their own privacy.

Venture outside to the fully enclosed garden area which offers garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ, the perfect space for al fresco dining. The former stables, are perfect for drying dogs and storing bikes. There is also an additional fridge/freezer and washing machine in the former tack room. There is ample off-road parking.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This cottage is the most relaxing place i have stayed in the UK, the surroundings were exceptional, step out to rolling hills,nature and best of all no noise or light pollution. Very clean and tidy and the enclosed garden a great asset for dog owners. The cottage was 10 mins from village where my wife and myself and 3 dogs were greated with open arRead morems, so friendly and they love dogs, the local pup offers a dog menu. Would I stay again YES. We enjoyed our stay in Fox cottage. The layout is interesting and adds to the enjoyment, there is more room upstairs than down. The walk up the hill from the great pub in Withypool was a challenge but we felt satisfied with our efforts and slept the better for it. We did miss having a phone signal but managed, it is after all real Exmoor. It was a Read moredelight to have Swallows nesting so close. There are some great walks from the door or just a short drive away. Hide

Really relaxing and peaceful holiday. Lovely cottage. Great garden for our two dogs.. A shower to die for. Beautiful villages and towns. Also liked the horses,cows and sheep on our days out. Nice beaches also. The village has a tearoom with Really tasty scones. We enjoyed our burger meal at local pub as well. X

A well situated cottage with a nearby pub ( it is down a steep hill so advise going in the car) both the cottage and the pub are dog friendly- the pub even has its own dog menu. The moors are a 5 minute drive away and you can walk for miles here but if you want the beach Minehead is a good place to go and has a large section of sandy beach availablRead moree for dog walking. Unfortunately the beginning of our holiday was marred by the severe weather. (never known it to be so cold and wet in late May) but that aside the sofa's were very comfy and so was the the bed. Cottage converted from old stable block many orginal features. Owners live on site in separate house. They are very welcoming with their dogs. Excellent facilities well presented and clean. Local pub down the hill to the village. Good walks from the property.

lovely cosy cottage which has been modernised by the owners with enclosed gardens that are secure for the dogs. Its on the outskirts of the village of Withypool where there is a local shop ,pub and coffee shop. There are lots of walks directly from the door, or is close to the north coastal towns of Devon for a day by the sea.

A lovely cottage, secure garden, comfortably furnished, fabulous shower, Netflix, excellent log burner- we would absolutely and unreservedly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing break with their dogs. The owners were exactly as one wants: friendly, helpful and approachable but leave one alone to get on with things. Perfect.

Lovely cottage, but found downstairs chilly with the stone floor. Bed lovely and comfortable. Stairs were definitely steep and narrow. Owners were very welcoming but then left you alone.

Absolutely stunning location on Exmoor, close to the pretty village of Withypool. Accommodates up to 3 dogs, and has a fully enclosed garden, which was perfect for our dogs. Lovely cottage in a peaceful location. Friendly and helpful owners. One of the most dog friendly places we've stayed. Fabulous secured garden and lots of walks close by. Just be aware the stairs are steep, so not suitable if you have mobility issues, or in our case, an elderly dog who loves stairs.
